Exterior
As we already mentioned, the 2022 Pontiac Trans Am is based on another legendary sports car. It is the current generation of the famous pony car, Chevy Camaro. The new Trans Am is largely based on this car, especially in terms of mechanics. In terms of the visual appearance, you can notice a familiar overall shape.
However, the 2022 Pontiac Trans Am comes with lots of details that closely resemble the legendary Firebird. You can notice a lot of work on the sheet metal, especially at the front. This includes the famous beak-like front end, with amazingly designed hood, grille, front bumper etc. The rest of the vehicle is also dedicated to the famous sports car.
Interior
On the inside, you can easily conclude that the new model is based on the Camaro. The base interior layout is practically the same. Even the dashboard features pretty much the same shape, characterized by massive instrument-cluster gauges and round air vents.
Of course, there is a custom trimming, so you can find finer materials on the dash and other parts of the cabin. Trans Am badges can be found around on several places, such as steering wheel, instrument cluster etc.
Engine
The 2022 Pontiac Trans Am is built over the Camaro SS. This means it features a familiar 6.2-liter V8 engine. In a stock version, this engine delivers around 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. It comes in a pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.
For this occasion, car enthusiasts from Florida did plenty of modifications, so a max output goes way over 1000 hp. For comparison, the Dodge Challenger Demon is good for 840 horsepower and it weights much more. According to some estimations, the 2022 Pontiac Trans Am may be able to run a ¼ mile in less than 9 seconds.

The 2022 Pontiac Trans Am is expected to become available soon. It will be very expensive, as the latest reports suggest a price tag of $190,000.
